3 Kinds Of People You Need On Your Worship Team

What kind of people do you have on your worship team? Do you only have the best of the best?

Ideally, you would have a team full of people who are ready to lead worship, right? But the truth is, if you only ever stack your team with those kinds of people, your ministry won't last for long. They'll be able to serve for a while but, eventually, they won't be around any more and you'll have no one left to lead.

There are a few other kinds of people you need on your worship team.

Here are 3 kinds of people you need on your worship team:

1 | People who ARE ready to lead worship

You need people who can currently lead worship on your team. This forms the basis of your present day team. You need people to lead your church THIS Sunday. These are people who already have the skills they need to lead worship. But, the problem is, a lot of leaders just stop at getting these kinds of people on their team. Then, 5 or 10 years down the road, they wonder why they don't have as many people as they used to. You need 2 other kinds of people on your team as well!

2 | People who AREN'T ready to lead worship

Not only should you be leading people who are able to currently lead worship. You should be leading people on your team who AREN'T able to currently lead worship but will be able (with training) in the future. It's all about not just thinking of the present but acting with thought and care of the future.

Just because these people are on your team doesn't mean they have to serve on Sunday. Invite some potential future worship team members to your rehearsals or other gatherings. In the process, they'll be trained up and assimilated into the culture of your team so that, when they are ready to serve, they already know how to function in your team.

3 | Young people

This takes the previous point a step further. Not only should you future proof your team in terms of 5-10 years, you should be thinking well beyond that. Get some students involved! Either they will serve in YOUR church in the future or they will serve THE CHURCH in the future. Either conclusion is a good one!
