I argued with AI about worship. Did I win? (Video)

I recently did something a little unconventional for the Leading Worship Well channel: I had a conversation with AI (Google's Gemini) about Christian worship.

I went into it with a healthy dose of skepticism, not looking for definitive answers, but wanting to explore its perspective and see where the discussion would lead.

The conversation took some unexpected turns! We delved into the differences between Old and New Testament worship, the role of singing in the early church, and even tackled some potentially controversial questions about how modern worship compares to the practices of the first Christians.

It definitely made me think about:

  • The danger of idealizing the early church without considering the full context of Scripture and its development.

  • The nuances of "participation" in worship and how it might have looked different in the early days.

  • The ongoing relevance of core worship elements like singing, Scripture reading, prayer, preaching, communion, and baptism.

This wasn't about getting all the answers from AI, but more about sparking a discussion and challenging some common assumptions in the modern worship landscape.
