In summary: Lingering means to stay in a place longer than you think is necessary.
In worship, it's pushing past the thought of "Okay, that's long enough. People are probably getting antsy. Let's move on." and sitting in the uncomfortable silence for just a few more moments.
Most of the time, we move on too soon but people can handle those few extra moments of lingering.
Before you lead tomorrow morning, plan a moment to linger in worship. Find space in the middle of a song to simply sit in truth and allow God to speak.
