3 Worship Leading Skills To NOT Leave Behind When The Lockdown Lifts

Think about how much you've learned over the past few months of being in lockdown... a lot!

I truly believe that God has used this time to raise up and develop the skills of worship leaders.

In Monday's post "5 Things Worship Leaders Need To Consider For When The Lockdown Ends," I encouraged you to start thinking about what you want to KEEP from this period of lockdown as you transition back into meeting in person again.

And while there are systems and tangible things (for example, livestreams) that you probably want to keep moving forward, there are also SKILLS that you've built that are important to hold onto.

Here are 3 worship leading skills to NOT leave behind when the lockdown lifts:

1 | Communication

When you aren't able to have face to face conversations with people, you are forced to become a better communicator.

That's exactly what has happened over the past few months. And the amazing part is that good COMMUNICATION has always been fundamental to leading worship well.

So, think about it like this: when you start leading in person again - communicate like you communicated online.

2 | Connecting with your church OUTSIDE of Sunday mornings

Not seeing your church family on Sunday mornings has forced you to find ways to connect with them OUTSIDE of Sunday mornings. That's a piece that most worship leaders had been missing.

So, when in person gatherings resume, don't neglect those moments of connection throughout the week.

The opportunity to livestream during the middle of the week will STILL be there. The ability to randomly text or call someone from your church to check in with them will STILL be there.

If you lacked connection with the people you were leading before the lockdown, continue connecting with them like you are during the lockdown!

3 | Highlighting UNITY in the Church

Because we've been apart, highlighting Church UNITY has been extremely important during this season.

Don't forget that message when you return to your church building. We don't gather on Sunday mornings to each have our own individual times of worship and simply be in the same room as other believers. We do it to worship TOGETHER.
